Carcass

Carcass played Columbus last night during their stateside tour. Horns thrust in the air salute and respect the builders (or at least the two original members) of the torch. Since half of the crowd probably had first period class assignments to worry about immediately after the show, such a sight reveals optimism in the preservation of good taste.

You can't fuck with Carcass. The new album makes a lot of modern metal bands sound like they half-assed their material - and Carcass's creative engine clocked in its 20-year mark years ago. The last time I was here, I saw Lil B during his #rare Swag Like Ohio tour. (And when do you think that will happen again? Lil B's too busy making new history.) Jeff Walker's gift of gab may have blown a little competitive heat on the rapper, because there's a bit of charm dangling off his hyperbolic tongue. I don't know which one enchants me more. Maybe it's the British humor. One more thing, set list consists of all the hits and some great numbers off "Surgical Steel." Also a flashing image of a flaccid, dead dong.

Shout out to my friend/Gorguts guitarist Kevin for hooking it up and allowing my rare outing to happen.
